A trained geologist and mineralogist with more than five decades of management experience in these industries, Dennis Clay Parker has served as the owner of Fox Creek Consulting LLC since 2024. Through the company, he leverages his expertise to provide advice, guidance, and actionable solutions to industrial mineral nonprofits, which include sales and product development. Over the years, he has visited at least 40 countries and worked with numerous mineral companies, helping them to evaluate deposits for their potential. He assesses whether a deposit is viable for extraction, taking into account such factors as the grade of the ore and its location.
In addition to this role, Mr. Parker is an accomplished innovator in the field, holding up to 12 patents related to clay minerals and beyond. Among his numerous accomplishments, he is most proud of supplying many of the raw materials used to make electronic-grade fiberglass, which is used in every electronic device in the world. He’s currently focused on a new patent for a novel energy storage system designed for large-scale energy generation from solar and wind sources. Potentially world-changing, his invention would provide low-cost, green, zero-hazardous energy storage that has not yet been achieved. His hope is that his battery, which offers a sustainable alternative to current energy storage solutions and has the potential to last up to 50 years, will help keep electricity prices low for all users. He ultimately aims to establish an organization that promotes and develops the product.
Upon graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington, with a Bachelor of Arts in geology in 1977, Mr. Parker worked for Mr. Ed Lowe, the inventor of Kitty Litter, as the Director of Product Development and Quality Control. In 1982, he joined the Davison Chemical Division of WR Grace in Baltimore, Maryland, producing Silica Gel Products at the Curtis Bay Works. In 1984, he joined ITC Inc. as a Business Development Manager. He was promoted to Vice President of Sales in 1986. In 1996, he acquired ITC Inc. with a group of investors and renamed it Active Minerals International LLC. He was President and CEO at Active Minerals International from 1996 to 2021. After his retirement, he served as a senior adviser and director there from 2021 to 2024. He attributes his success to the people in his life, including his wife, Melissa, their four children, and numerous professional leaders and mentors.
